The development phase of Hornet is unprecedented. We didn’t just start designing another HPV, we hit the road. We visited over 50 schools and teams from all around Australia. We got ‘into their sheds’ and explored what they need to move forward with their HPV racing programs. We stopped being trike builders and started being product designers.
Keeping up with maintenance through a season of racing is getting tougher as is the challenge of keeping students actively involved in the process. We sighted a major opportunity here and we made it the development focus of Hornet. Every aspect of the Hornet’s design has been considered through the eyes of novices maintaining it. Durable and resilient Chrome Moly chassis skinned in the most advanced Corflute fairing ever created.
On arrival of your new Hornet you are greeted with a ready to ride chassis and an easy to assemble flat-packed fairing kit. Student involvement in the construction of the vehicle starts immediately as you open the comprehensive instructions and begin fairing construction right there on the school room table. Completion of the Hornet by your team for racing gives them the vital connection and understanding they need to maximise the experience. While at the same time they are unknowingly attaining the skills and knowledge they need to repair any race damage if need be. Further, you can reignite the enthusiasm with a fresh fairing and enjoy that new bike feeling again and again. Hornet’s computer designed fairing was extensively refined in the wind tunnel with performance that exceeds even our expectations. Regularly embarrassing vehicles costing twice as much.
In the pilot seat Hornet builds on our leading rider ergonomics and comfort. The heart of Hornet is our already legendary Generation 3 Chassis. As with Aquila 3, integrated is our revolutionary Indexed Crank System. Simply jump in, push a button to adjust reach, go! The largest possible range of rider sizes is accommodated and no need for booster padding or seat adjustments.
A strongly recommended inclusion with Hornet is our in-house developed Carbon Big Boy wheels. They represent the singled biggest improvement in a bolt on part we’ve yet conceived. Independently lab tested by GreenSpeed, they are the lowest rolling resistance wheels currently available. Our testing concludes as much as 3% improvement in performance as well as increased tire longevity. Carbon Big Boy wheels are exclusive to Trisled.
Finally, the most exciting feature about Hornet when your team is ready to take it to the next level, Your Hornet chassis can be upgraded to an Aquila 3 body. All its internals are compatible.
